Writer, editor and educator Peggy Robles-Alvarado partnered with visual artist, photographer Daisy Arroyo to portray abuelas as artists, dancers, drummers and rebels redefining themselves.

The Abuela Stories Project (2016) is a beautiful collection of images and words that bring seven extraordinary abuelas out of the kitchen, from past memory into a present day spotlight, to take an intimate look at the lessons they offer new generations.
